Job Overview

Under the general direction of Service Manager and Service Foremen, perform general maintenance and repair work on commercial and industrial roofs. Observe and diagnose roof problems and repair as needed in accordance with applicable manufacturer's specifications and Palmetto State Roofing quality standards.

Roofing Technician Responsibilities and Qualifications

•

Responsible for responding to assigned projects or service calls

•

Willingness to learn through on-the-job training

•

Knowledge and experience with multiple types of commercial systems or construction in general (preferred but not required)

•

Experience with metal roofing (preferred but not required)

•

Possesses Aerial Lift and Telehandler licenses (preferred, but not required)

•

Willingness to work outside in the elements and being physically active

•

Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and think outside-the-box

•

Dependable and able to be at work on time and on a consistent basis

•

Presentable in appearance and professional when communicating with both customers and Palmetto State Roofing team members

•

Possesses OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications (preferred, but not required)

•

Experience using a hot air welder and/or other roofing system tools (preferred but not required)

•

Ability to plan and erect ladders in a safe manner as required by job site conditions, in conjunction with industry and OSHA standards

•

Ability to travel out of town for work, on occasion

•

Additional responsibilities as assigned

•

Must maintain a positive attitude

•

Bilingual (Spanish and English, preferred but not required)

Requirements

•

Must be at least 18 years of age

•

Must have a valid drivers license, in good standing, for a minimum of three (3) years

•

Must be able to pass a background check

•

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and participate in random drug testing

•

Represent the company in a referable, respectable and reliable manner

•

Ability to follow directions with great attention to details

•

Ability to perform elevated work routinely lifting and carrying at least 50 lbs, withstand extensive bending, kneeling and walking in all types of weather for 8+ hours per day

•

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

•

Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines on construction sites at all times

•

Possesses time management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines
