Job Description Summary

This role will drive the energy transition by engaging with high tech and large industrial companies at a strategic level to understand their electricity consumption requirements, leverage the expertise and capabilities of GE Vernova to originate solutions that address these needs, including negotiation and execution of power purchase agreements with projects currently under development by GEF and our development partners.

In this role you will need to use your commercial judgment & expertise to ensure high quality of engagement. You will be involved in short-term and long-term planning and contribute to the overall business strategy. High levels of Commercial judgement and expertise are required to achieve outcomes required.


Job Description


Roles and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with hyper scalers and industrials, working closely with GE Vernova Strategic Account Executives where relevant.

Engage at a strategic level with hyper scalers & industrials to attain a deep understanding of their current and future power requirements, including geographic areas, site characteristics and projected load profile.
Originate opportunities with hyper scalers & industrials that meet customer needs by leveraging GE Vernova’ industrial products and commercial capabilities, including the pipeline of projects under development by GEV and our partners.
Closely integrate with GEV co-development teams and industrial partners from Gas Power, Renewables and GE Vernova-Hitachi (nuclear).
+ Provide commercial support to GEV technical configuration & design teams + Maintain detailed and up-to-date understanding of GEV co-development projects
Structure and negotiate power purchase agreements and off-take arrangements with customers on behalf of projects under development by GEV and our co-development partners, including agreements to sell power via the local utility or electric cooperative.
Standardize commercial arrangements for repeatability to maximize efficiency


Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in project development, PPA contract negotiation, commercial operations, finance or related field within the Energy industry
Ability to travel 25-50%
Ability to work in the U.S.
Fluent in English


Desired Characteristics

Team Player: Ability to work closely and collaboratively with teams representing GEV Financial Services, GEV industrial companies (Gas Power, Wind, GE-Hitachi nuclear and Grid) and our co-development partners.
Customer Success Focus: Ability to engage strategically with technology and industrial customers to position GE Vernova energy solutions as solving specific problems for customers, such as reducing energy costs, improving reliability, or helping them meet clean energy targets. You must be able to influence and communicate effectively across different functions.
Understanding of Data Center Energy Sector: Knowledge of how hyper scaler data centers operate, their energy needs, and how GE Vernova' s solution impacts power usage effectiveness (PUE) and energy efficiency. Experience working within the data center energy sector would be viewed positively.
Contract Structuring and Negotiation: Experience structuring complex, multi-year energy contracts and pricing models that balance both cost and sustainability objectives. Strong negotiation skills are necessary to handle large-scale energy contracts, power purchase agreements, and energy supply agreements. The ability to manage risk, address price volatility, and create win-win agreements is essential.
Energy Industry Expertise: Deep knowledge of the energy market, including energy production (renewables, natural gas, etc.), transmission, storage, and consumption, is critical. Understanding of and experience negotiating power sales agreements with electric utilities and cooperatives.
Understanding GE Vernova Technologies: Knowledge of GEV gas turbines with carbon capture, wind turbines and nuclear small modular reactor technologies can give you a competitive edge when discussing future-proof solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing complex deals with multi-functional interactions.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple individual and team responsibilities for multiple projects.
Excellent technical and/or commercial writing and reading comprehension skills.

The base pay range for this position is 240,000 usd to 260,000 usd (potential flexibility for the right person). The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, geographical location, education, and skill set.
