About This Job

Foster Plumbing, a Crete United Company, was founded in 1996 and is a commercial plumbing contractor serving the Denver metro area. We are currently looking to add a member to our team who has a current Colorado Journeyworker or Master Plumber license with 4+ years of experience in commercial plumbing. Work hours are typically Monday-Friday from 6:00am-2:30pm in the Denver Metro area.

Daily work will include (but is not limited to) installation and/or replacement of new drain and water lines, water heaters, TI (Tenant Improvement), commercial bathroom renovation, underground rough, small ground up construction, and core drilling.


$33-$40 per hour.


Necessary qualifications:

- Must have knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used to perform services on commercial plumbing systems.

-Must have experience in leading projects with valid Colorado Journeyworker/Master Plumber License.

- Verbal, Written & Computer communication skills.

- Experience with roughs and undergrounds preferred.

- Valid driver’s license with a fairly clean driving record.

- Ability to lift and carry 50+lbs.

- Must have basic plumbing tools.

- Must be able to pass a reasonable background check.


Responsibilities


1) Building and maintaining strong relationships:

· Be professional and present yourself as a leader on site and while wearing Foster Plumbing apparel off site

· Creating conflicts with owners, building engineers, or construction workers in other trades will not be tolerated


· Maintain Foster’s values & principles


2) Job site safety:

· Ensure all employees are following jobsite safety (proper PPE, trenching/shoring, OSHA compliance, etc.)

· Following building shutdown and tie in protocol

· Ensure equipment is properly used (e.g. Milwaukee ProPress will not properly press a 3” Nibco fitting)


3) Submittals:

· Complete understanding of specified fixtures in the submittals

· Fixtures to be roughed in per fixture specification sheets


4) Blueprints:

· Total comprehension of drawings and layout (floor layout, keynotes, details, fixture/equipment schedules)

· Review takeoff set and tie ins (pipe size and run lengths) to ensure additional material is not ordered without capture of a change order

· Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications

· All layouts shall conform to project blueprints (any deviations shall be approved by project manager)

5) Coordinating with building engineer and site superintendent for site specific information:


· Delivery requirements


· Core drilling/scanning


· Water/waste tie ins


6) Understand and utilize SimPro mobile:

· Utilize and understand proposal, job notes, change orders, and RFIs in Dropbox/SimPro

· Proposal, job notes, RFIs, and change orders approval status must be reviewed DAILY (office staff continuously updates these sections with new information as the project proceeds)

· Adding daily progress photos and percent complete notes


7) Manage jobsite costs:

· Order & remove heavy equipment from site (equipment should not be onsite if not being used)

· Send returns to supply house (returns should be given to driver with packing slip)

· Plumbers are to stay onsite and utilize delivery drivers (going to the supply house is prohibited without approval from project manager)


8) Material orders:

· Rough material orders (pipe, fittings, ball valves, check valves, etc.)

· Only “release” preordered material, do not double order material that is already on a PO (heaters, drainage fixtures, fixtures, specialty valves, etc.)


· Miscellaneous trim material when needed

· Material orders must be through proper vendors

· “Next day” material orders shall be accurate (multiple “day of” orders/deliveries to the same site is unacceptable)


9) Review Wink reports:

· Review wink reports weekly to track estimate vs actual material on current projects

· Review wink reports weekly to track estimate vs actual labor on current projects


10) Manage resources effectively:

· Relay labor requirements to project manager (crew size should be increased or decreased based on current progress vs inspection deadlines)

· Relay anticipated install durations to project manager for upcoming labor forecasting and scheduling

11) Reporting all possible CO’s and RFI’s to project manager:

· Relay all RFIs to project manager for discussion (look ahead and anticipate future problems before they hold up project install)

· Confirm change order approval with project manager prior to install (GC site superintendents are not authorized to approve additional work)


12) Time management:

· Ensure site staff is abiding by lunch break and labor laws

· Abide by paid time off and unpaid time off policy


13) Insulation:

· Insulation to be called in after rough inspection (reference job notes for selected insulation contractor)
