Commercial Janitorial Cleaner

Schedule: This location is cleaned 7 days a week on the Day Shift with flexible start time between 7am-9am. Weekend hours are required. This position will work 40 hours/week.

Candidate must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check and fingerprinting.

This is an extensively secured municipal location requiring a full background check including a Minimum of 10 years of employment and full address history. All background information will be submitted to the Southfield Police Department for processing and approval. Commercial Cleaning/Custodial Experience MUST be listed on your resume. Commercial Cleaning/Custodial references are required. If selected, candidate will be required to attend a pre-employment interview with a Southfield PD Detective prior to an offer of employment.

Responsibilities:

- Perform custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas

- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas

- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors

- Dust and wipe down surfaces

- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners

- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap

- Follow established cleaning procedures and safety protocols

- Operate floor care equipment such as buffers and carpet cleaners

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance REQUIRED

- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning products

- Ability to operate floor care equipment such as buffers or carpet cleaners

- Attention to detail and ability to work independently

- Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently

- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required (up to 50lbs unassisted)
