Job description

Green Oasis provides fertilizer, weed control, tree care and vegetation management services to residential, commercial, municipal and industrial customers throughout Alberta. We've been serving Alberta since 1994.

This is a kinetic work environment, constant movement, requires attention to detail, and great teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

· Fertilizer and or weed control applications using truck-mounted sprayers, backpack sprayers, granular spreaders and UTV sprayers (if qualified).

· Defensive driving of 3/4 to 3-ton service units in the city and surrounding rural areas, as well as long highway drives and gravel roads.

· Navigation using a combination of maps, apps and GPS.

-Early mornings (6:00 am start time)!

· Precise record keeping and clear communication. Attention to detail is a must.

· Active participation and understanding of a safety conscious work environment.

· Professional and confident communication with clients, user groups and bystanders.

· Troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as gas-powered pumps, backpack sprayers, and trucks (nothing expected beyond what you are trained)

· This is not a sales position.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

· Ability to commit to seasonal work (August to October 31) with long shifts working outdoors according to weather conditions, (60+ hours/week).

· Must have a minimum class five (5) drivers license with a clean driver's abstract.

· Must have own transportation to shop (3930 78 Ave NW Edmonton).

· Must comply with our Drug and Alcohol Policy, including 13 panel POCT testing prior to the start of the season.

· Must provide own CSA approved steel-toed work boots for general use (we provide chemical resistant boots for herbicide application).

· Team oriented.

· *Green Oasis will invest in all successful applicants and cover the costs of ALL required courses and certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

· Alberta Certified Pesticide Applicators and/or Authorized Assistants.

· Herbicide application experience, farming or other.

· First Aid/CPR.

· Experience driving a truck and/or a trailer.

· Agriculture/Golf course or Landscape Maintenance/Environmental background.

· Experience working long hours outdoors.

· Mechanical aptitude and experience (changing tires/spark plugs, topping off fluids).

· Paid course training (all staff paid minimum wage while taking training certificate courses and online orientations).
