This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of a portfolio of commercial and industrial (C&I) energy efficiency programs as well as the Multi-family programs that mirror commercial programs. With a focus on Engineered Solutions and Multifamily Engineered Solutions programs. The C&I Manager will lead, manage and innovate energy efficiency programs to drive energy savings for customers. Responsible for all elements of program design and delivery, metrics, regulatory requirements, customer participation, budget, evaluation and contractor engagement.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the C&I Energy Efficiency programs including implementation, contractor coordination, and customer support.
- Responsible for coordinating the energy efficiency programs including coordinating vendors, internal resources, developing communication plans, monitoring vendor performance and maximizing customer participation.
- Manage data and reporting, verify contractor invoices, accurately analyze information, make strategic recommendations and communicate energy reports to customers.
- Develop and oversee work management processes and procedures, budgets and other department performance goals.
- Coordinate with Marketing to promote energy efficiency programs via advertising and public outreach events.
- Represent the Company in meetings regarding energy efficiency programs and services.
- Keep abreast of advances and/or changes in energy efficiency programming in NJ, and elsewhere, in consultation with the Energy Efficiency Program Managers.
- Provide customer service and resolve customer issues that may arise regarding C&I Energy Efficiency Programs.
- Sell and close commercial projects.
- Cultivate and develop new business through building and existing relationships with professional organizations and trade allies.
- Identify and source energy efficiency opportunities through a multifaceted approach, to include outbound sales calls, emails and outreach efforts.
- Develop and support energy efficiency plan filings, program modifications, annual updates (including cost/benefit studies), and incentive filings.
- Responsible for commercial program deliverables, energy savings and financial goals.
- Develop performance metrics applicable to each commercial energy efficiency program and in conformance with the overall portfolio.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the C&I Energy Efficiency programs implementation, develop strategy documents, and work plans to guide program implementation actions.
- Maintain contractor relationships, which will include invoice approval, quality enforcement, process implementation and interactions with Engineering firms under contract for larger commercial projects.
- Work in support of various utility sponsored programs that encourage energy-efficiency in the commercial and industrial markets.
- Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Provide oversight, coordination, and technical guidance to commercial and multifamily energy efficiency team members.
- Address escalated commercial customer inquiries.
- Work with the NJ electric and natural gas utilities and other external stakeholders in the refinement of policies and procedures for the commercial energy efficiency program

- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of Energy Efficiency or related experience
- Master’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
- In addition, a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Ability to sell and close commercial projects.
- Experience in utility-based energy efficiency programs highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience building successful projects or programs.
- Proven leadership skills to motivate our cross functional and matrixed teams to ensure excellent delivery through consistent processes and systems.
- Well-developed interpersonal & written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
