Position Overview


Start Date:August, 2025

Preferred Work Term Length: 8 – 12 months


Preferred Education: Business Administration



Location: Calgary, Alberta


Preferred year of study: 2nd or 3rd year

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in a formal co-op/internship program with their post-secondary institution OR Students must be returning to their post-secondary institution after this work term

The Role

We’re seeking a Co-op Student – Management System & Audit to join our Legal & Compliance team. Reporting to the Sr Manager – Audit, Controls & Management systems, you´ll be working with a team of dedicated employees across North America. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team working on important projects while receiving the mentorship, knowledge and experience to develop the skills you need to build an exciting career.


During your work term, we will push you to be your best by exposing you to challenging projects and giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your work term. You will gain practical experience, develop technical skills to complement your academic learning, and gain exposure to future opportunities at our company. To succeed, you’ll need to cultivate and communicate a clear vision and set goals for yourself, whilst also juggling individual country specific targets.


Some of the key responsibilities of the Co-op Student – Management System & Audit could include:



Management System Responsibilities (~75% of the role)

Administer the system responsible for all of the Company’s processes, standards and procedures.
Providing training on the requirements and use of the system;
Creating/drafting/designing documents;
Working with business units and the vendor on issue resolution;
Ensuring proper and continued governance of documentation;
KPI reporting.


Audit Responsibilities (~25% of the role):

Assisting the lead SOX Auditor with the annual internal control testing program;
Assist with performing process walkthroughs and associated documentation;
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on the performance and improvement of their controls;
Providing solutions to promote continuous improvement and learning across the organization;

To be eligible for our co-op student program, you must be enrolled in a co-op/internship program sponsored by an accredited post-secondary institution.


Who are we looking for?

Successful candidates will not only have a strong academic background, but also excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team, a flexible attitude and the drive and desire to deliver results.


Beyond that, we are interested in hearing from candidates with the following:

Eligible to work in Canada;
Work permit must be in place at time of application (if applicable);
Strong safety mindset;
Student enrolled in a four (4) year bachelor’s degree in Business or related field;
Ability to translate complex technical concepts in to easy-to-understand language;
Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain flexibility in completing tasks in an ever-changing workplace;
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and BusinessPort Agility is considered an asset;
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
Demonstrates initiative to understand problems and collaborate with colleagues to drive to solution.
