- Program and operate CNC machine (Strippit, Amada)
- Calls and inputs programs and loads and unloads parts
- Sets up and stages jobs based on production schedule
- Select proper tools required as well as the ability to perform tool wear offset
- Verify dimensions of parts with measuring instruments such as measuring tape and calipers
- Organizes daily workload according to order status
- Cleans and maintains machines and surrounding area including removing cut parts and waste
- Corrects machine errors as necessary
- Maintains an efficient, current file and record management system
- Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings (blue prints)
- Ability to understand and follow method layouts and process notes on routings (work order)
- Ability to use basic hand tools, inspection gauges and related equipment
- Competent in interpreting production orders, prints and method layouts
- Familiar with metal finishing techniques and metal finishing equipment
- Able to differentiate materials
- Ability to problem-solve
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline oriented environment
- Ability to take direction and accept supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
