Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. A CNC Operator is responsible for the programming of the shop CNC and the processing of sheet stock for cabinet casework. They are expected to operate a variety of machines, maintain and repair the machines, and are responsible for communication with vendors about the maintenance of the machines.
Duties
•Operate, maintain, and repair the shop CNC, LD4, and Bandit 5.
•Follow standard safety procedures for a woodworking and carpentry shop.
•Cut, label, and prepare cabinet parts for building.
•Communicate with the office and build area to keep track of which jobs are upcoming, which pieces are cut, and which pieces still need to be cut.
•Maintain a clean work environment, including the removal of waste such as sawdust, scrap wood, and unnecessary tools to keep the environment safe.
•Maintain machinery, ensuring that it is operating as intended. Machinery must be cleaned and free of sawdust at the end of each day. Each machine must be oiled properly. If a machine is not functioning as intended, it is the CNC operator’s responsibility to repair the machine, including the immediate contacting of technicians if necessary.
•Unload material from material deliveries to the shop. All materials must be inspected upon receipt and compared to the packaging slip received with the shipment. If a material does not match what is on the packing slip, the foreman must be notified immediately.
•Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills
•High school degree or GED required, trade school certificate or field experience preferred.
•Familiarity with heavy machinery and CAD/CAM drawing software.
•Basic math skills, using tape measure, speed square, reading and comprehending instructions and dimensions.
•Self-initiating person who can prioritize and possesses good problem-solving skills.
•Ability to work independently and exercise discretion and independent judgement with minimal supervision.
•Able to understand verbal and written instructions.
•Able to envision all steps in assigned tasks.
•Possess time management and stay composed under the stress of multiple demands.
•Ability to lift to 100lbs and perform a variety of physically demanding activities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
