Position Summary
We are seeking experienced, safety‑minded CNC Operators for general fabrication support. This role is centered on operating CNC laser and plasma cutting machines, press brakes, and roll equipment, while providing production support across the shop. The ideal candidate will be technically adept, able to read blueprints, and committed to consistent quality and efficient production.
- Operate CNC laser cutters, plasma machines, press brakes, and roll/form equipment according to blueprints and job orders
- Perform machine setup: program retrieval, correct nozzle and gas selection, tool offsets, and material fixturing
- Follow proper start‑up and shut‑down procedures and perform routine preventative maintenance checks
- Read and interpret technical drawings, prints, and CNC programs/CAM files
- Conduct in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, tape measures; verify tolerances and document results
- Load/unload and organize raw material to support efficient production flow
- Bend, punch, saw, and prep parts as required; ensure parts are ready for welding and final assembly
- Troubleshoot basic machine and program issues; escalate complex problems to supervisors/maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe work area; follow PPE and shop safety policies
- Cross‑train with fabrication staff to support production goals
- Proven experience operating CNC laser, plasma, press brake, or similar fabrication equipment
- Familiarity with CNC program retrieval and basic CAM/CNC concepts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, tape measures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control and tolerance requirements
- Mechanical aptitude, good manual dexterity, and capability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary and support production schedules
- Ability to lift and handle materials per company safety guidelines
- Hands‑on CNC operation or programming experience
- Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding support, or machine maintenance
- Knowledge of laser/plasma cutting parameters and nozzle selection
- Forklift certification or prior material handling experience
