A. Position SummaryThe CNC Operator is accountable for ensuring the efficient output of a high-quality product meeting customer expectations. The CNC Operator, machines parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment (including but not excluded to CNC machines) in the specified areas of production.
B. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
The position will include the following responsibilities:
Leadership:Build support and engagement for corporate & operations initiatives and objectives; and
Demonstrate Rice values and commitment to Rice Vision & Mission.
Safety:Understand and comply with the Rice EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) System; and
Help promote a safe work environment.
Machining:Produce parts and machine according to manufacturing orders and work instructions.
Efficiently produce quality product, on time, that meets customer expectations.
Ensure parts meet or exceed written/drawn specifications during a complete production run.
Operate tools & equipment to produce product from Machining I workstation(s), including but not excluded to CNC lathes and mills.
Verify and record specifications and information on Quality Control (QC) Report,
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on the machines and equipment to maintain proper functionality and cleanliness,
C. Required Skills, Education & Competencies
High School Diploma or equivalent; or six to twelve months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-year machining experience may be required.
Ability to read and interpret English.
Ability to interpret and read blueprints and drawings.
Ability to perform basic math; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Must be able to follow directions. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
Ability to use hand tools and/or power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
D. Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Regularly stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).
Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
Occasionally work in all weather conditions.
Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Monday – Thursday: 2:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.
Friday – Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. and every second Thursday 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Please be aware, all new hires will start on the day shift for training purposes
