Set up, configure, and operate the VTL machines.
Load materials into the machine and secure them properly.
Select and install appropriate cutting tools based on job requirements and specific materials.
Monitor tool wear and make tool changes as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
Input program codes and adjust as necessary to ensure accurate machining.
Study drawings, schematics, engineering information, or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances, as well as the best method and sequence of operations needed for fabrication.
Collaborate with QC, engineering, and production on a daily basis.
Work closely with the production team to ensure schedule and delivery deadlines are met.
Provide "G" codes as necessary for programming numeric controlled machines using FANUC or similar controls.
Identify and address issues related to machine malfunctions or deviations from specifications; Troubleshoot and resolve programming errors.
Communicate effectively with team members to share insights and coordinate tasks.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure and safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of machine settings, issues, tool changes, and production data.
Seek opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize machining processes.
Stay updated on advancements in VTL technology and machining techniques.
Provide guidance and training to junior machinists or new team members.
Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance the overall skill level of the team.
Execute various tasks, as assigned by your manager, supervisor, or company officer, whether within your standard duties or as requested beyond regular responsibilities.
2+ years of experience in a metal fabricating environment with knowledge of machining.
Ability to interpret drawings, use standard precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and check threads.
Proficient in common arithmetic operations and geometry calculations.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.
Moderate physical effort - working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights.
Good eye/hand/foot coordination and good visual acuity - cannot be colorblind.
Ability to work in a cold, hot, and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
Must be able and willing to work the required overtime as per company sales demands.
Must be available to participate in the “Call Out” schedule.
Must be open to work some weekends based on sales demands.
