Prosper-tech is a family owned (~30 people) CNC machining service provider for the medical device, aerospace, and defense industries. We are looking to add to our team to keep up with strong customer demand in 2025. This is hands on machinist role in a low-volume production environment machining materials such as Aluminum and Stainless.
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in Richmond. In this role, you will play a crucial part in producing high-quality components for various industries. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering precision machining solutions.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical Certificate
- 2-5 (+) years’ experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC Lathes (longhand gcode and/or CAM programming)- Blueprint reading including strong GD&T understanding and how to use for manufacturing process design
- Ability to program CNC lathes (FANUC control) with y axis and sub spindle
- Use of hand measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc)
- Strong written technical communication skills and able to communicate professionally internally • Strong digital and physical organization skills
- Willingness to operate in a continuous improvement focused environment
- Ability to work closely with operations manager, quality manager, and on-shift team leader

- Program and set-up CNC machines making small lot Aerospace, Space, Defense, and Medical Device parts from 3D files and a drawing • Operate CNC lathes that are set-up by first shift
- Communicate shift pass down effectively via written communication •
- Work with other programmers on team to process backlog of parts
- Verify and edit machine settings and CNC program parameters in Hyper mill and at the machine control as necessary
- Train operators after jobs have been set-up including documenting work instructions and updating ERP software
- Use precision measuring tools to verify in-process dimensions and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards
- Work within ISO9000 / AS9100 Quality Management System

- Full-time Position with base 40-45 hours /week with overtime at 1.5x as business requires
- Second shift (2:30pm-11pm) $26-$34+/hr based on experience.- Medical, Dental, Vision from Start
