Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Pay Scale $18.00 - $22.00 hr (based on level completion /experience)

Mayfly Outdoors CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. Depending on the level of cnc experience this role will be from operating machines and developing skills to interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tools and materials, programming machines to spec, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The CNC Machinist will perform routine cleaning and inspections of machines, attend to maintenance needs and assist the crew for in-depth maintenance repair when needed, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to enhance manufacturing processes. Strong attention to detail, mathematical skills, and the ability to read blueprints are essential for success in this position.

● Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC production equipment.
● Assure the quality and accuracy of the work you perform.
● Satisfactorily use calipers, micrometers, depth gages, and other measuring instruments
● Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
● Comprehend CNC machine programs and complete basic edits/off-sets to maintain component accuracy, quality, and productivity.
● Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
● Safely use manual hand and power tools including but not limited to bandsaws, sanders, grinders, lathes, and mills as needed.
● Operate powered industrial vehicles and production equipment in the raw material area when needed.
● Thoroughly clean work area and equipment on a regular basis.
● Maintain metalworking coolant levels, concentration, cleanliness, and other preventative maintenance items as required.
● Maintain all daily/weekly reports including but not limited to Production, Tooling Consumption, Safety, etc.
● Accurately create and maintain detailed Job Set-Up Sheets and Tooling Lists specific to individual parts to assist in future Set-Ups and Operator Development
● Demonstrate the ability to identify issues with equipment and inform management accordingly.
● Work within assigned such as Assembly, Handwork, Anodize when business needs are required.
● Highly organized and detail oriented with precision machined components.
● Work effectively as part of a dynamic team.
● Computer software knowledge in Microsoft platforms (Excel, Word, etc)
● Computer literacy in common software suites such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite Apps and adequately learn additional software programs as necessary to individual responsibilities.
● Determine causes of operating errors and work with Engineers or maintenance to resolve the issue.
● Effective oral and written communication in English as required by the job tasks.
● Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
● Work under pressure with numerous tight deadlines and priorities.
● Participate in continuous improvements and company initiatives.
● Work in a safe, clean and healthy manner that complies with all applicable OSHA standards
● One or more years of experience in related production environment in lieu of accredited education.
● 1 year of recent (within the last 2 years) experience working in a dynamic manufacturing environment directly related to production of complex manufacturing.
