Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Machinist is an experienced-level position responsible for operating the machines according to procedures and instructions, and for performing the following specific job and program specifications while ensuring that quality, dimensions, and key characteristics are maintained. The Machinist ensures that machines are well-stocked with needed materials and maintained properly, and will be asked to perform periodic checks. Spot checks of the finished product will also be a part of the daily tasks to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production. The Machinist also ensures the computer numerical control (CNC) mills are setup properly, work well, and produce quality product. The Machinist will make adjustments to the machine control speed, material feed, and proper cuts as needed. Salary is dependent on experience level.
•Follow optimal company operational policies and procedures
•Maintain the company's quality and safety standards as enforced by the Production Supervisor and Operations Manager
•Set-up and operate machines according to job specification(s) and shop traveler instructions
•Make changes and edit programs
•Set tool registers, offsets, compensations, and conditional switches
•Review blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of product
•Calculate requirements, including basic math, and adjusting three and four-jaw chicks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers
•Load machine by lifting stock into position
•Verify and adjust settings by measuring positions, first-run part(s), and sample workpieces by adhering to standards
•Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations
•Possess measuring instruments such as a 0-6" caliper, 0-1" micrometer, protractor, bevel, and indicator, and measure work pieces for conformance by using such instruments
•Ability to operate basic machine shop equipment such as a drill press, grinding wheel, and conventional mills and/or lathes
•Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
•Perform daily maintenance on machine being operated
•Document actions by completing production, traveler, and inspection reports
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
•High school diploma; college degree preferred
•4-5 years of proven work experience as a machinist
•Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, administrative staff, and work colleagues, whether in-person, over the phone, or via email
•Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
•Knowledge of machine operations, machine warehouse procedures, and machine warehouse best practices
Physical Requirements:
In this position, the employee may be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The noise level in the environment can be loud. Hearing protection is provided as needed upon request. Physical requirements are as follows: the employee is required to talk and hear; is frequently required to stand and walk; uses hands to finger, handle, and feel; use repetitive motion; and reach with hands and arms.
•Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
•Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
•Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

•$24.00-$27.00, depending on experience.

•Our company offers an Alternate Work Schedule which consists of a menu of 4 schedule options; employee will determine selected schedule with direct supervisor.
