CNC Lathe Operator

Abel Machine is accepting applications for a 1st shift experienced Lathe Operator to fill an immediate opening. We are a growing machine shop located in Holden, Missouri, have been in business for nearly 20 years, and have become known in the industry for our quality production.

3-5 years of CNC Lathe and programming experience is preferred. We are looking for someone with the right attitude that is ready to establish a career in a skilled trade that is in high demand.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to join our team. As a CNC Lathe Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating computer-controlled machines to perform precision machining.

Duties:

- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathe machines to fabricate parts according to specifications

- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders

- Select appropriate tools, attachments, and materials for each job

- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed

- Inspect finished products for quality control and make any necessary adjustments

- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance

- Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals

Skills:

- Proficient in operating CNC lathe machines and related equipment

- Knowledge of tooling, including the use of various cutting tools and inserts

- Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders

- Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment

- Proficient in using hand tools for fabrication purposes

- Knowledge of machining principles, including milling, drilling, and turning operations

- Ability to use precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate dimensions
