HSPP is currently seeking an experienced CNC Laser Machine Operator. We are looking for someone who has 5+ years’ experience, working within a manufacturing or steel industry. The chosen candidate must be a self-motivated individual, who has strong communication skills, and thrives working in a team environment. - Set up, operate and program laser machine utilizing various CNC programs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as measuring tapes, angle finders, micrometers and vernier calipers
- Perform inspections of parts, measure and record key dimensions and fill in QA forms as needed
- Carry out quality checks on an ongoing basis to ensure job is within tolerance.
- Meet tight deadlines and production needs as required.
- Responsible for troubleshooting programming problems on machine.
- Utilize material handling equipment as required such as Cranes, magnets, clamps etc.
· Select the appropriate machines, tools, consumables and materials to be used.
· Identify and understand different grades of material and proper procedures and precaution for processing
· Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs
· Perform routine maintenance checks as required and instructed to ensure proper machine operation and safety
- At least 5 years of experience operating a CNC Laser Machine as well as experience with maintenance and troubleshooting
- Experience working with Steel plate and different grades of steel - is an asset
- Experience with Plasma and Oxy-fuel CNC Cutting machines - is an asset
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Basic mathematical aptitude
- Experience using various measuring tools and small power tools
- Experience working with overhead cranes
- Heavy lifting required up to 43lbs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Required to work bi- weekly shift rotations - 6:30am -3:00pm and 2:45pm-11:15pm $2.00/hr. night shift premium.
