Job Description
Piping Technology & Products is currently seeking a class C driver, also known as a delivery driver, is responsible for transporting goods in a straight truck or a combination vehicle . They are also responsible for tasks like loading and unloading cargo, maintaining records, and ensuring vehicle safety.
Key Responsibilities of a Class C Driver:
Driving: Operating a straight truck, small truck with a trailer, or other vehicles within the Class C category.
Loading and Unloading: Safely loading and unloading cargo at various locations.
Route Planning: Following assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, fuel receipts, and other paperwork.
Vehicle Maintenance: Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service during deliveries.
Safety: Adhering to all local, state, and federal driving regulations and safety protocols.
Documentation: Ensuring proper documentation of deliveries and returns.
Additional Responsibilities:
Some Class C drivers may also be responsible for warehouse duties, such as preparing orders, using a forklift, or handling paperwork.
Others may be involved in yard work, such as moving trailers or containers.
Class C drivers may also be required to assist with customer service tasks, such as handling COD (cash on delivery) payments.
