Job Summary:
The Civil Survey Helper assists the survey crew in gathering and recording field data for construction, engineering, or land development projects. This role supports the surveyor or other parties by handling survey equipment, preparing job sites, and performing physical labor associated with land surveying.
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in setting up and breaking down survey equipment (total stations, GPS, levels, etc.)
•Clear brush, drive stakes, and mark boundaries as directed.
•Carry and organize tools, rods, tripods, and other survey instruments.
•Follow instructions to take accurate field notes and measurements.
•Operate hand tools and small equipment (e.g., sledgehammers, machetes).
•Maintain and care for all survey tools and equipment.
•Ensure safety practices are followed on the job site.
•Perform manual labor, walk long distances, and work in various terrain and weather conditions.
•Assist with downloading data or recording notes from the field as needed.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED preferred.
•Previous construction or field experience is a plus.
•Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
•Physically fit; able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors for extended periods.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•Willingness to travel to different job sites.
