Overview
CNS ENGINEERS, a consulting civil engineering firm, is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Roadway Designer or Project Engineer to join our dynamic team located in the City of Riverside, California. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design and development of public civil engineering projects, utilizing advanced design software and methodologies. CNS's clients include Caltrans, Counties, Regional Metropolitan Transportation Authorities, and Cities. CNS specializes in the planning, technical analysis and design of public transportation facilities including highways and various types of bridges and walls. We are adding a civil roadway designer/project engineer (non-structural design) who is self-motivated, professionally aggressive, team players and have well communication skills. Duties
•Develop detailed civil engineering designs using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
•Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
•Conduct system design for various civil engineering projects, including transportation planning.
•Prepare technical documentation, including plans, reports. quantities, and design specifications.
•Review and analyze project plans to ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
•Participate in project meetings, providing updates on design progress and addressing any challenges.
•Assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations for clients.
Qualifications
•A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is preferred.
•Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
•Proficient or experienced in current version of AutoCAD including Civil 3D. Familiarity and experience with MicroStation is a plus.
•Minimum three years of design experience in preparing civil engineering construction drawings for roadway or highway improvement projects.
•Experience in project management and coorfination is a plus.
•Possess a basic understanding of roadway design principals, standards, procedures, and guidelines including AASHTO and Caltrans Highway Design Manual.
•Able to independently perform roadway design tasks and coordinate with team partners and public agency clients.
•Possessing a California Professional PE license is a plus.
•Excellent technical writing skills for documentation purposes.
•Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
•Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.
