Description
The Chief Project Engineer is a leadership role that leads and manages the Project Engineering Division within the Engineering Department at FINFROCK. The role requires overseeing a team of engineers, ensuring they meet design and company standards, regulatory requirements, and project deadlines.
The Chief Project Engineer must demonstrate the ability to communicate with, lead, and manage others. They must demonstrate the ability to set and maintain schedules by performing work themselves as well as assigning work to others
Duties & Responsibilities
•Manages the project schedule, budget, and resources, working with other project stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget
•Responsible for properly staffing the department to meet immediate and planned project needs
•Oversee the engineering designs and drawings for projects, ensuring that the project deliverables align with requirements and standards
•Assist project team members on engineering issues that arise during the project, ensuring that the project remains on track and within budget
•Supervises a team of project engineers, providing necessary guidance and support
•Review and maintain the content and appearance of all relevant documents distributed by Engineering to assure completeness and consistency
•Participate in development of Engineering project budgets and schedules
•Coordinate with other FINFROCK departments to develop and implement desired project delivery system, schedule, and cross departmental processes
•Collaborate with various departments to ensure cohesive final product
•Assist in developing department and company standards
•Works closely with the Director of Architecture, Construction Project Managers, and Chief Engineers
•Reports to and communicates with Executive Vice President, Engineering to ensure alignment with company goals and engineering standards
Qualifications
•Degree in civil or structural engineering (master’s degree preferred)
•Must have PE license in the State of Florida
•Previous experience with designing prestressed/precast concrete and multi-story commercial construction projects in a Design-Build environment
•10+ years’ experience in structural engineering
•Experience managing large projects with complex features
•Experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
•Previous experience in identifying and executing creative, cost competitive solutions
•Previous experience in personnel management
