Summary: The Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) is a strategic partner to the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the human resources function. The CHRO will lead the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the cooperative's mission, values, and business objectives. This role encompasses talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and compliance with all employment laws and regulations.

Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
Act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on all human capital matters.
Foster a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement, development, and retention.
Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
Develop and implement performance management systems to drive employee productivity and development.
Create and execute succession planning strategies to ensure leadership continuity
Promote a positive work environment and manage employee relations issues with a focus on resolution and improvement.
Ensure effective communication channels are in place for employees to express concerns and provide feedback.
Oversee the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives
Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain employees.
Conduct regular market analysis to ensure compensation practices remain competitive.
Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
Develop and implement comprehensive training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
Ensure leadership development programs are in place to build a strong pipeline of future leaders.
Promote continuous learning and development opportunities for all employees.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that mitigate risk and promote a safe and respectful workplace.
Oversee the management of employee records and HR data with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
Manage the HR department budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
Utilize HR metrics and analytics to drive decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
Oversee HR information systems (HRIS) to streamline HR processes and enhance data management.
Oversee the Safety Manager and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
Promote a culture of safety through regular training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Investigate and respond to safety incidents, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, occupational safety, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. 10 years of progressive HR experience.
Must possess SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certification
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
· Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
· Occasional standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
· Office environment with controlled temperatures and lighting.
· Occasional exposure to a variety of weather conditions when visiting field locations.
· May require occasional travel to various cooperative locations.
