Chief Financial Officer

Ravalli County Electric Cooperative (REC) is a member-owned co-op headquartered in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley in scenic Montana. REC’s mission is to meet the changing needs of its membership for reliable electric service and innovative, cost-based, and affordable energy solutions.

REC’s full-time CFO is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial statements of Ravalli Electric Cooperative and related subsidiaries in accordance with GAAP issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the IRS, other regulatory and advisory organizations, and by financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. This position is responsible for month-end procedures and annual audits in addition to maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and all applicable accounting functions.

Essential Functions:

· Directs and supervises the Accounting and Member Services Staff

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products

· Develop financial forecasts and annual budgets

· Prepares financial and statistical information for Management and Board of Trustees as required

· Represent the co-op with external organizations, agencies, members, and power suppliers in a positive and professional manner

· oversee accounting for federal grants

Desired Education and Experience:

· Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

· Minimum of 5 years experience as a supervisor in an orgainization

· Proven management skills
