About This Job

Description

Reporting to the Principal Chemist, the Chemist will assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive laboratory program to support the various stages of the Rook I Project. The laboratory program will support key areas including the worker health and safety, environmental protection, laboratory quality management, laboratory technical management, and overall laboratory logistics at each phase of the Project.

During the Saskatoon-based pilot lab phase, the Chemist will focus on hands-on technical method development within a temporary pilot lab facility. As the Rook I Project enters the construction phase, the Chemist role will transition to a site-based role encompassing laboratory technical management, supervision and quality management. Through the pilot lab phase, this position will require working in the temporary Saskatoon-based pilot lab. Circumstances may require work to be conducted out of the Saskatoon office periodically. As the Project progresses, the position will transition from being a Saskatoon-based role to a site-based rotational schedule role at the Rook I Project site in Northern Saskatchewan.

- Contribute to the setup and transition of laboratory facilities during the various phases of the Project, including logistical planning for lab relocation, LIMS selection and configuration, and preparation of technical and managerial documentation to support ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and overall, Rook I Project integration.

- Provide technical support to the Metallurgy and Process Engineering Team on matters related to water treatment, uranium processing, and uranium ore concentration
