The Entry-Level TFX Operator is responsible for supporting the chemical plating process by safely operating equipment, following procedures, and ensuring quality standards are met. Operators will perform basic production tasks while learning the TFX plating processes, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
This is a critical role in a small department where consistent attendance, teamwork, and attention to detail directly contribute to meeting customer and environmental requirements.
- Operate plating line equipment under supervision, following all safety and quality requirements.
- Perform routine checks (chemical levels, equipment functionality, trend charts, etc.) as instructed.
- Monitor and document production data (e.g., hourly checks, priority lists, downtime logs).
- Handle, move, and package customer product according to specifications.
- Support setup, changeover, and shutdown processes at the direction of the Shift Lead or Supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area according to 5S standards.
- Participate in training on chemical handling, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Flexibly assist in other departments when business needs require.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend English fluently (safety and quality documentation).
- Basic math and computer skills (data entry, Plex, documentation).
- Reliability and strong attendance record.
- Willingness to learn plating processes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Previous manufacturing or chemical handling experience is helpful but not required.
- Working in and around chemicals (training and PPE provided).
- Working in a smaller, enclosed department within the facility where temperatures may be higher than the rest of the plant.
- Exposure to production noise, chemical odors, and heat.
- Requires standing/walking for extended periods, frequent lifting, and repetitive tasks.
- Small department environment – teamwork and attendance are essential.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 30 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
