Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chemical Blender to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mixing and blending various materials to create high-quality products while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Operate blending equipment and machinery to mix raw materials according to specified formulas.
- Conduct regular inspections of blending equipment and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Notify appropriate plant personnel in emergency situations. Take emergency action on your own authority according to standard operating procedures.
- Report to the Production Supervisor or shift group leader.
- Communicate with the other operators on the shift and other plant operations personnel to meet all manufacturing priorities and customers’ expectations.
- Operate batch processing equipment which includes the Reactors, pressure vessels, storage tanks, vacuum systems, pumps, charging systems, bulk loading and packaging systems, forklifts, etc.
- Collaborate with team members in the warehouse to handle materials efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensure line-ups are correct before materials are transferred.
- Process reaction and blending batches according to product manufacturing procedures and equipment standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Document batch data on batch sheets, production analysis sheets, control logs, and material records.
- Report thorough safety and operational information to the next shift during shift changes.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly unit inspections.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Load and unload bulk shipments of raw materials and finished products. Ensure that outgoing products are tested and shipped in drums or bulk according to specifications and regulations.
- Label and placard packaged material in accordance with company policy and government regulations.
- Assist with the proper handling of plant / unit waste as necessary.
- Support plant commissioning, start-up, shutdown and maintenance activities.
- Other responsibilities as directed by management.
- Previous experience in machining or materials handling is preferred.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and warehouse operations is beneficial.
- Experience with fabrication processes is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
- Must be able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any U. S. employer, without employer sponsorship or support.
