Position Overview: This position will serve as the site Construction Quality representative and may be filled at the QCA2 level depending on the candidate’s experience. The role supports Georgia Power’s Hydro Modernization Program by ensuring construction activities meet established quality standards, codes, and specifications.
- 10+ years of quality oversight experience OR a 4-year degree in a related field
- CWI/AWS certification required
- AMPP/NACE certification preferred
- Strong working knowledge of ASME, AWS, ANSI, ASTM, ACI, and other applicable standards
- Familiarity with weld inspection, mapping, and quality surveillances
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality plans
- Effective communication skills; ability to work independently and within a team
- Assist project management with the development and implementation of project quality plans
- Provide oversight of onsite contractors to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and standards
- Assist in developing and documenting site-specific procedures and guidelines
- Create and maintain surveillance schedules; perform surveillances to verify adherence to quality requirements
- Review and monitor inspection and test plans for compliance with project specifications
- Support construction teams with preventative maintenance activities as required
- Participate in pre-bid, pre-mobilization, and contractor meetings to communicate quality requirements
- Collaborate with project and construction management to oversee and maintain overall project quality
- Proactive, self-starter with strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform onsite quality surveillances and documentation reviews
- Knowledge of quality control processes including hold points and witness points
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to foster collaboration across contractors, engineers, and project teams
