The Cement Bulk Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, compliant, and timely transport of bulk cement and related materials between facilities, job sites, and third-party locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate delivery and handling of materials while following all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
- Safely operate commercial bulk trucks in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload bulk materials using proper tools and techniques.
- Transport equipment and materials between locations, third parties, and other districts.
- Perform and document thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Monitor and maintain vehicle condition, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and general upkeep.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery paperwork, and related documentation.
- Communicate with the Logistics Coordinator to receive assignments, updates, and travel instructions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a strong safety-first mindset in all operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational goals.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Able to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and MVR review.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.
- Previous experience operating cement bulk trucks is a plus.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Ability to read, understand, and complete shipping documents and driver logs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Consistently adhere to all DOT and company safety policies, including the use of PPE.
- Complete and document pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Provide proactive updates on delivery status, delays, or issues as they arise.
- Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy when interacting with field staff, vendors, and third-party personnel.
- Participate in all required safety and compliance training sessions.
- Stay current on DOT regulations and industry best practices.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.
- Exposure to moving machinery, outdoor weather, diesel fumes, chemicals, and moderate to loud noise
- Must be able to lift up to 65 lbs
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crawling
- Requires use of respirators, safety gear, and visual precision for various tasks
- Must be able to clearly communicate in team meetings and field settings
