We are seeking a CDL Equipment Operator to join our team as a
Product Demonstration Specialist.
The Product Demonstration Specialist is a field-based role responsible for expertly operating and showcasing specialized equipment, including the
Sewer Equipment 900 (combination sewer cleaner) and the Sewer Equipment HX (hydro excavation truck). This individual will serve as the subject matter expert in the functionality and application of the equipment, performing live demonstrations for current and prospective customers across Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
The role requires extensive travel—approximately 80%—with overnight stays 2–3 nights per week, 3 weeks per month. Essential Functions- Operate, transport, and demonstrate Sewer Equipment 900 and HX units in real-world environments
- Provide live demonstrations highlighting key features, operational capabilities, and benefits of the equipment
- Engage with prospective and current customers including operators, supervisors, and executive-level decision-makers to understand their needs and tailor demonstrations accordingly
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of product specifications, usage scenarios, maintenance requirements, and competitive advantages
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, clean, and presentation-ready before and after each demonstration
- Serve as a liaison between the company and customers, gathering field feedback to share with Division Managers and sales team
- Represent the company in a professional, courteous, and safety-focused manner at all times
- Accurately complete trip logs, expense reports, and demonstration summaries
- Support sales efforts and trade events as needed
- Expert knowledge of sewer cleaning and hydro excavation equipment functionality
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- Active listening skills and ability to tailor communication to audience needs
- Ability to work independently and manage a demanding travel schedule
- Strong time management, organization, and customer service skills
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of customer organizations—from equipment operators to executives to effectively communicate product value
- Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and problem-solving under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience operating heavy equipment, preferably sewer or hydro excavation equipment- Prior demonstration or customer-facing field experience strongly preferred
- Valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record required
- Experience working in a customer-focused or sales support role is a plus
