POSITION PURPOSE
As a CDL Driver, your primary responsibility is safely and efficiently transporting heavy shoring equipment to and from various job sites. You will ensure the equipment's safe loading, securing, and unloading, complying with all relevant traffic laws and safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Trench-Ade’s Core Values at the forefront.
•Safely operate and maintain heavy shoring equipment during transportation.
•Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform minor repairs when necessary.
•Securely load and unload heavy shoring equipment.
•Adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and relevant traffic laws.
•Coordinate with dispatch to plan routes and schedules for equipment delivery.
•Assist in communicating with customers regarding delivery and pickup schedules.
•Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries and concerns.
•Collaborate with the Dispatch team and assist as needed.
•Maintain accurate records of equipment transportation activities.
•Comply with all weight requirements and load capabilities.
•Report any breakdowns or equipment problems to the fleet manager.
•Participate in regular driver meetings and training sessions.
•Ensure that daily pre-trip & post-trip inspection forms are completed and submitted.
•Assist in maintaining inventory control and management as needed.
•Any and all other duties assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
•Operates at professional construction sites and in professional office environments.
•Must have the ability to communicate verbally with others on-site, in-person, and over the telephone.
•Needs the ability to read printed materials, signs, computer screens, and directions.
•Requires stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
•Needs the ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery, and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
•Must be able to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance; bend; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; lift overhead; traverse around or otherwise position oneself to meet work and safety requirements.
•Required to navigate and perform activities on various construction sites safely.
•Will work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and other tools within local, state, and federal safety guidelines.
•Required to work outside frequently for extended periods in all weather conditions, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
•May be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, viruses, or other airborne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines, and dust/debris.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS
•This is a full-time position.
•Occasional evenings and weekends.
•Work hours will vary and need to be fulfilled as needed to complete the job in a timely manner.
TRAVEL
•Must be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Work Experience
•A high school diploma or GED is required; formal education is preferred.
•Three years of CDL driving experience, preferably with heavy shoring equipment.
•Knowledge of construction, trench safety, or related equipment.
•Excellent computer skills are required.
Certifications, Licenses, and Requirements
•Must have a valid CDL license with the appropriate class and endorsements for heavy equipment.
•A clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
•Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required and must maintain a clean record.
•Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P as it pertains to excavation safety is preferred.
•Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 as it pertains to confined space entry is preferred.
•Must be able to communicate in English. Ability to speak another language is a plus.
•Other certifications, licenses, and requirements assigned as needed.
