Local waste management company currently seeking qualified applicants for a full-time route driver position in Emmett. Applicants with experience operating rearload, automated sideload and frontload garbage trucks are strongly encouraged to apply.

Our routes operate Monday – Friday (occasional Saturday required) and typically start each day at 6:00AM with 40+ hours of work per week during our busy season. Punctuality, reliability and willingness to work longer days when needed are essential.

Applicants living in Gem, Payette or Canyon Counties preferred. Position to be filled ASAP.

Responsibilities and Duties

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks at a minimum:

•

Operates vehicle in accordance with Company Policies and all local, state and federal laws.

•

Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle utilizing the standard VCR (Vehicle Condition Report).

•

Works closely with Management to improve route efficiency and identify best practices.

•

Notifies Management of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.

•

Notifies Customer Service Office of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways or potential safety hazards.

•

Identifies and reports all containers in need of repair or replacement.

•

Ensures the number of containers on the route reconciles to the service level listed on service list.

•

Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customer's location clean and free of debris.

•

Positions and returns containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, enclosure doors are closed and secured, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.

•

Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.

•

Performs all duties as scheduled by Management and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job:

•

Experience: 1 year(s) of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.

•

Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with an air-brake endorsement.

•

Must be at least 21 years of age.

•

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

•

Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and MVR check.
