Kinsley Steel, Inc., a rapidly growing steel fabrication and installation company is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver to deliver structural steel throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Region.
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Safely and Professionally operate a Tractor Trailer with a Flatbed Trailer (45', 48', 53', or Stretch), straight truck, or other vehicles to haul steel and equipment. + Properly secure loads using chains, binders, and straps to ensure stability during transport. + Physically load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, shop floors, and ground using manual lifting, forklifts, or overhead cranes. + Coordinate with shipping and receiving for daily deliveries and pickups. + Plan routes and delivery schedules to meet deadlines while following all DOT regulations and company safety policies. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date Driver's Log, Safety Reports, and other required documents per state and federal regulations. + Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and trailer are in safe operating condition. + Report any mechanical issues, defects, accidents, or violations to the appropriate personnel. + Ensure proper maintenance of vehicles, including refueling, cleaning, and minor repairs as needed. + Ensure vehicle is kept clean and organized. + Drivers are responsible for performing minor preventive maintenance on their trucks and trailers + Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members. + Ensure all freight documents are signed and submitted in a timely manner. + Assist the team in other non-driving related tasks when deliveries are not needed.
+ Valid Class A CDL license (with a clean driving record). + Minimum 5 years of commercial truck driving experience (preferred). + Must be 21 years of age or older. + Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. + Experience delivering to construction jobsites is preferred. + Experience hauling stretch and wide loads is not required but a plus + Knowledge of securing structural steel, stairs, and rails is a plus. + Strong understanding of DOT safety procedures, load securement, and compliance. + Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as required. + Ability to stay out of town on occasion. + Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical and DOT drug/alcohol test. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound safety judgments. + Must have a clean MVR
