Position Description: The primary function of the Fuel Refinery Driver is to drive a straight truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 GVW to transport and deliver petroleum-based products. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Driver Manager.
Essential Job Functions:Transport fuel from point of pickup to point of delivery in a safe and efficient manner, following safety protocols.
Maintain logs of working hours, vehicles service and repair status, following state and federal regulations.
Ensure that the truck is loaded with correct fuels for each drop location.
Deliver products in correct quantities as instructed by manager and paperwork.
Inform manager and safety of any DOT fines, citations or any other relevant issues.
Communicate with manager any potential customer issues such as complaints, spills, leaks, incidents, accidents, injuries and vehicle issues.
Communicate with maintenance in regard to any vehicle issues or needs and report any issues immediately.
Operate all vehicles assigned to them. Maintain order and cleanliness of truck at all times.
Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
Load fuels as instructed at designed truck rack using fuel arms and hoses.
Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to checking oil and fuel levels.
Complete all pre-trip requirements before each truck run and post-trip requirement at the end of each shift.
Proficiently use company provided technology.
Read and complete written documentation with respect to bill of lading, inventory, pre and post trips inspections, orders, and fuel ticket copies. Ensure fuel tickets match orders.
Able to handle exposure to dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lit work areas, heavy traffic, and high noise levels.
Able to be exposed to drive in hazardous conditions, including weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations.
Understand and follow the Refinery Safety Culture and Rules.
Ability to push/pull 146 pounds, lift 50 pounds, and climb ladder with a minimum of 3 rungs regularly.
Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.
Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.
Effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.
Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications / Experience/Education:Valid CDL class B license required with a Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brakes endorsement preferred.
Pass pre-employment DOT physical, drug screen, 7-year criminal background check and Clearinghouse query.
