Responsibilities
•
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for cast-in-place concrete scopes (footings, slabs, walls, etc.).
•
Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop quantity takeoffs.
•
Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers.
•
Work closely with project managers, and field teams to ensure accurate scope alignment.
•
Assist in bid presentations and negotiations with clients.
•
Maintain historical cost data and develop tools for estimating efficiency.
•
Track changes in scope and ensure estimates reflect updates promptly.
Qualifications
•
3+ years of experience estimating cast-in-place concrete work.
•
Strong understanding of concrete construction methods and materials.
•
Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, etc.).
•
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
•
Excellent math, organizational, and communication skills.
•
Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
•
Degree in Construction Management, or related field.
•
Experience with structural concrete, site concrete, and architectural concrete scopes.
•
Familiarity with local codes, permitting, and industry best practices.
Summary
A&B Concrete, LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cast-in-Place Concrete Estimator to join our team in Hamden, CT. This role is ideal for a proactive construction professional with a strong background in concrete estimating, blueprint reading, and takeoffs. You’ll play a key part in preparing competitive bids for structural and site concrete projects across residential, commercial, and municipal markets.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
