Cashier/Sales Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales professional to join our team. This role is essential for providing excellent customer service while efficiently handling transactions and promoting our products. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for sales, and the ability to engage with customers effectively. Duties

- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently for cash handling and transaction processing.

- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product information, and recommendations.

- Conduct product demonstrations and engage in technical sales discussions to enhance customer understanding of our offerings.

- Manage merchandising tasks including restocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining a clean sales area.

- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and suggesting relevant items that enhance their shopping experience.

- Maintain accurate cash drawer balances and perform end-of-day reconciliation as required.

- Exhibit strong phone etiquette when handling customer calls or inquiries.

- Utilize basic math skills for transaction calculations and cash handling duties.

- Demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills to ensure a smooth workflow during busy periods.

- Operate the cash register, process payments, and handle transactions accurately

- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to keep the store clean and organized.

- Assist with lottery, tobacco, and fuel sales following store policies

- Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers

Experience

- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not mandatory.

- Familiarity with technology sales or technical products is a plus.

- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to cater to a diverse customer base.

- Greet customers with a positive attitude and provide excellent service

- Friendly and dependable with good communication skills

- Cash-handling or customer service experience is an asset (but not required – we will train!)

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.20-$29.58 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 45 per week
