Position Summary: Oversee all aspects of the site construction of water and sewer projects.
Reports to General Superintendent
Supervises: Kirk Bros. Co., Inc. field crew assigned by superintendent
Job Responsibilities: (not inclusive of all duties)
•Civil/Structural Concrete Forming Systems: Handle both gang forms and hand-set forms for various construction projects.
•Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints and construction drawings effectively.
•Crew and Subcontractor Coordination: Organize and coordinate the work of crew members and subcontractors, including managing equipment and material needs.
•Supervision: Oversee and manage crews involved in the self-performance aspect of projects to ensure efficient workflow.
•Subcontractor Coordination: Monitor and ensure the quality of on-site work performed by KBC subcontractors.
•Contract Document Understanding: Thoroughly understand all contract documents, including specifications, plans, addendums, and work scope.
•Work Plan Development: Create a detailed work plan based on construction documents to ensure proper coordination of materials, manpower, equipment, and subcontractors.
•Skill Utilization: Collaborate with the Superintendent to effectively utilize each team member's skills and ensure that they are qualified for assigned tasks, including equipment operations.
•Field Condition Inspection: Examine and inspect field conditions to identify problems, omissions, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures.
•Timberline Estimate Review: Review and understand the Timberline Estimate Detail Report, accurately cost-code activities on Time Sheets, Material Received Reports, Equipment Reports, and other required forms.
•Performance: Provide Superintendent with input on how workers are performing.
Required Abilities:
•Supervisory Principles: Knowledge of principles and concepts of effective supervision.
•Building Codes and Regulations: Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
•Company Policies: Understanding of company policies and procedures.
•Safety Compliance: Knowledge of Federal, State of Ohio, and Kirk Bros. Co., Inc. safety rules and regulations.
Job Site Safety Responsibilities:
•OSHA Training: Complete OSHA 30-hour safety training and attend all safety training meetings.
•Safety Implementation: Review and implement all required safety precautions on the job site, including toolbox talks, site-specific safety plans, fall protection analysis, trench shoring or layback, personal protection equipment, and completing Job Safety Analysis (J.S.A.).
•Work Site Maintenance: Maintain a safe, clean work site in accordance with KBC protocols.
•Reporting Compliance: Follow KBC reporting protocols for personnel and safety matters.
