CAD Manager
HD is currently seeking an experienced CAD Manager.
- Diploma in Engineering Technology
- 11+ years of experience- Expert in Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, and applicable CAD design software
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to and learn new software to support continuous improvement and meet customer requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- High level of emotional intelligence, with an ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent
- Ability to inspire people to act through leadership and influence
- Strong organizational and project planning skills
- People oriented with an ability to establish relationships, credibility, and trust
- A.Sc.T. or C.Tech designation
- Leadership, human resources, and project management courses and/or designations
- Variety of experience including potash, uranium, and oil & gas
- Safety certifications and training
- Industrial and on-site experience
- Bulk materials handling
- Mobile equipment, heavy industrial equipment, or mining equipment
As a CAD Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, manage, and, mentor other employees
- Managing design software, updates, upgrades, and all drawing files
- Maintain and educate others on the CAD manual
- Writing, reviewing, and submitting proposals
- Provide estimates for use on proposals and projects
- Managing multiple projects and priorities
- Maintaining project schedules and budgets including top-down reviews of other PMs
- Project management including tracking, reporting, and delivery of projects
- Maintain ongoing client contact with reporting, reviews and project follow up
- Drafting, 3D modeling, simulation and analysis, as-built drawings
- Drafting and drawing reviews, and checking documents
- Work at client mine sites and other client facilities
- Safety leadership: site trip preparation, review junior employees, check PPE
- Field checking and verification at various shops or clients’ facilities
- Equipment and fabrication inspections
- Establishing client relationships, company marketing presentations
- Holding employees, team members, and project managers accountable for their actions and individual responsibilities
- Active within recruitment and selection including interviews and salary decisions
- Onboarding new hires who report to this position: policies, procedures, safety, PPE
- Mentoring employees: technical and behavioral aspects, professional development
- Performance management for employees who report to this position: positive and constructive
- Active in employee discipline and terminations
- Other tasks as required to meet our clients and operational requirements
