LOCATION: ROBARDS, KY (SEBREE PLANT)
Position Description
Essential Functions & Duties/Responsibilities
Assists in procuring goods and services in support of Company’s plant operations utilizing sound purchasing principles and best practices. Assist in identifying supply sources, solicits & evaluates commercial offers, and finalizes placement of POs and contracts to achieve best quality and value for Company. Ensures that deliveries are prompt and in accordance with the required specifications. Under the direction of the Procurement Manager, North America, core tasks include, but are not limited to:
•Performs all work in accordance with Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental (HS&E) compliance policies and procedures with the goal of achieving “Target Zero” for HS&E related incidents.
•Receives, processes, and sources internal requests for goods and services (purchase requisitions) from Company’s approved Vendor list.
•Develops, issues, and administers requests for quotation (RFQ) packages as directed.
•Develops, issues, and administers Purchase Order (PO) documents including change orders as directed.
•Expedites delivery of Purchase Orders by contacting vendors and/or shippers to ensure that goods and equipment are received in accordance with the associated requirement date(s).
•Enters and maintains accurate records and information in Company’s ERP and Document Control system.
•Provides general administration support to the Operations Procurement Group including, without limitation creating forms and documents, scanning, filing, copying, faxing, answering phones, and general material management support.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience
•Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), ERP systems (SAP experience a plus)
•Basic office equipment skills operating desktop computers, phones, facsimile machines, copiers, scanners, etc.
•Ability to coordinate and execute multiple requests simultaneously with the capacity to work independently, coupled with the ability to perform work with minimal direction and supervision.
•Must be proficient in the English language, specifically with conversations, reports, and e-mail correspondence.
Key Relationships within and outside the Company
Candidate shall interface with internal customers (i.e., maintenance and operations) and with external suppliers.
HSE Roles and Responsibilities
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Century Aluminum Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
