Job Summary:
At Profire we provide reliable burner management and combustion control systems and solutions to industry leaders who pride themselves on being at the forefront of safety and technology within their sector. We have locations in Acheson, Alberta, Canada; Lindon, Utah; Homer, Pennsylvania and Millersburg, Ohio, with team members throughout Alberta, Utah, Oklahoma, Colorado, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, and Texas. We are currently looking for a results-oriented and dedicated individual to join our Lindon, Utah team as a Buyer.
The Buyer will be responsible for continually monitoring the levels and flow of inventory in all our warehouses using NetSuite as our ERP system. This position will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Operations department, Sales team, and our other locations to ensure parts are ordered, shipped, and received on time, while adhering to supply chain best practices as outlined by the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM). An associate degree is preferred but relevant experience will be considered. Our mission is to have the right items in the right place at the right time for the right price, incorporating ASCM standards for procurement fundamentals, sourcing strategies, supplier management, and negotiations.
Job Responsibilities:•Maintain stock levels using MRP/ERP tools to meet production and sales demands
•Manage the back order, need to order, and open order reports
•Manage email in joint email account
•Source special order items and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery time, and service level
•Track lead times and costs for products and follow-up with suppliers as needed
•Update supplier’s metrics including cost, lead times, quality of service, and quality of product
•Pick up and deliver materials locally as needed driving F-350 and trailer
•Update data in ERP (NetSuite)
•Inform Sales and Operations teams of lead times, delays, and sales prices
•Always search for best value when purchasing products, negotiating prices and terms to drive cost reductions
•Make recommendations using inventory analysis, including strategies for slow-moving inventory
•Help in warehouse as needed
•Help with inventory cycle counting as needed
•Work closely with Shipping Lead, Assembly Lead to coordinate increases
•Help analyze and make recommendations for slow moving inventory
•Ensure compliance with all company processes
Key Skills/Qualifications:
•3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles
•Proficient in ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
•Knowledge of procurement fundamentals, sourcing strategies, supplier management, and negotiation techniques (aligned with ASCM standards)
•Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams
•Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities for inventory optimization and cost reduction
•Detail-oriented with customer-service focus
•Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to fast-paced changes
•Some Post High School education in supply chain management, business, or related field preferred
•ASCM certifications such as CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or Supply Chain Procurement Certificate are highly desirable
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
•Be flexible to help in other duties as needed
