Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. designs and fabricates high quality Pressure Vessels and Heat Transfer Equipment for the power generation and process industries worldwide. The Controller will lead and coordinate all aspects of operational accounting including: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, the general ledger, cash management, payroll and tax reporting. This role is based in our La Palma headquarters with support staff and colleagues across the US and in international locations. This role partners closely within the company and with finance and accounting leaders in our parent company, Babcock Power. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and motivator through business transformation and a fast-paced work environment. The role reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Essential Responsibilities: • Manage accounting operations including Billing, AR, AP, GL, cash management, tax reporting and payroll.
- Coordinate close process in accordance with corporate accounting processes, procedures and timetables and in compliance with local, state and federal requirements.
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems and ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures as well as short- and long-range departmental goals and objectives.
- Coordinate and prepare data and schedules for annual financial audits by independent auditors, federal and state auditors, and customer auditors.
- Manage and oversee budgetary and other systems for internal control and ensuring such controls are in compliance with corporate, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
- Ensure that all financial reports are prepared and submitted to senior management and governmental agencies as required.
• Manage growing shared service center model with overseas support personnel while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls. Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related education.
- 5 – 10 years related experience
- Effective managerial skills.
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of GAAP.
- Working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis.
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local tax compliance regulations and reporting.
- Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- CPA highly preferred.
- Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.
