Consolidate Edison is seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled
Business Analyst Contractorto support strategic asset management initiatives, maintenance planning, and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will collaborate across engineering, operations, and IT teams to enhance asset performance, optimize maintenance strategies, and support enterprise systems integration. This role demands proficiency in data analysis, business process improvement, and stakeholder engagement within a utility or industrial environment.
- Analyze asset performance data to develop health indices and support lifecycle management strategies.
- Assist in the creation and refinement of Asset Management Plans (AMPs) aligned with Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) objectives.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance planning using Maximo and other enterprise systems.
- Apply reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), FMECA, and risk-based frameworks to evaluate equipment performance and maintenance effectiveness.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using
Microsoft Excel
and
Power BI
to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Perform data modeling and analysis using
Python
,
SQL
, or
R
to identify trends, optimize processes, and support reporting requirements.
- Document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for system enhancements and process improvements.
- Provide training and develop instructional materials for software tools and business processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support outage scheduling, rapid restore processes, and data integrity across platforms such as DataSplice and MTL.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in business analysis, asset management, or utility operations.
- Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Office 365
, particularly
Excel
(pivot tables, formulas, charts, data modeling).
- Hands-on experience with
Power BI
for data visualization and reporting.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language:

- Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and reliability engineering principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, training, and documentation development.
- Experience with utility systems such as Maximo, DataSplice, Outage Scheduling, Rapid Restore, or MTL.
- Familiarity with power transmission and distribution equipment and operations.
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards in utility environments.
- Certification in asset management (e.g., IAM, ISO 55000) is highly desirable.
