MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position reports to the District Manager. The Bulk Plant Operator will be responsible for operations in the blending and loading cement, chemicals (Cement or Bulk), and/or acid needed to perform each Pumping Services job.
CRITICAL TASKS / PERFORMANCE GOALS:
•Responsibility to live and model the Crew Resource Management culture.
•Responsible for carrying out the daily operations and activities in the Bulk Plant to include but not limited to loading cement and additives, plant housekeeping, inventory, and sample storage and tracking.
•Review job proposals or call sheets from Coordinators to understand nature of job, volumes required, and to prepare for blend.
•Calculates, pours, measures, and weighs chemicals/cement/acid blends.
•Monitor pneumatic pressure of tanks and control values to increase/decrease flow of materials from one tank to the next during blending and loading processes.
•Participates in loading blended cement/chemicals/acid to Bulk or Acid trucks for transport to customer site, retaining a field sample of blended cement or acid for back up or testing purposes.
•Load and unload orders from suppliers through use of pallet jacks and forklifts.
•Perform maintenance and repairs on Bulk Plant equipment (blowers, Bulk equipment, forklifts, etc).
•Assists with driving Bulk Trucks to load cement as needed.
•Tracks and maintains inventory of chemicals, cement and acid.
•Ensures complete and accurate paperwork and records are submitted and maintained (i.e. shipping papers, inventory levels, freight, blend/load documentation, etc).
•Maintains and promotes American Cementing Safety Standards at all times: shop, yard, location and while traveling.
•Reports all hazards or potentially hazardous situations, accidents, incidents and injuries immediately to supervisor.
•Attends weekly Safety Meetings.
•Review, understand and implement operational and technical standards including other company requirements for each task performed.
•To use the assertive statement to a supervisor (including stop work authority) when a concern or know of a better solution presents itself.

•High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
•2+ years of experience in Bulk Plant/Operations experience

•Strong math skills- able to understand and calculate ratios, percentages, and volumes
•Working knowledge of Emergency Response Plans, Location and use of all required safety equipment, Firefighting and hydrogen sulfide beneficial
•Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG), and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
•Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays and on-call rotations
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (hot, cold, wet etc.) The employee may be exposed to diesel fumes or other airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; potential risk of electrical shock, vibration. The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud. Provision, wearing and maintenance of personal protective/respirator equipment (including face masks).
Regularly required to stand, sit and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. As necessary can manually lift a load with two hands, using good manual handling techniques up to a maximum of: Male 65 lbs. (29.5 Kgs), Female 45 lbs. (20.4 Kgs).
Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell. Vision requirements include: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception; and ability to adjust focus and distinguish color. Also includes creating and presenting information in both formal or informal meetings to multiple persons, or in the field environment to field crews, or one-to-one basis.
