Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of general ledger accounting. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of our organization.
Your duties will entail:
Recording Financial Transactions:
This includes entering daily transactions into accounting software, such as invoices, receipts, and payments.
Maintaining Financial Records:
Keeping up-to-date records of financial transactions, including debits, credits, and balances.
Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Processing invoices, tracking payments, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and clients.
Reconciling Bank Statements:
Comparing bank statements with accounting records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Preparing Financial Reports:
•Generating reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
•Calculating and processing payroll, including deductions and tax withholdings.
Additional Responsibilities:
•Assisting with Tax Preparation: Helping to gather information and complete tax forms, such as tax returns.
•Maintaining Ledgers: Keeping accurate records in general ledgers and subsidiary ledgers.
•Managing Petty Cash: Handling and reconciling petty cash transactions.
•Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
•Complying with Regulations: Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
•Vehicle & equipment update, tracking etc.
•Government deadlines for mining
Experience
•Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
•Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in governmental accounting.
•Proficiency in accounting software is highly desirable.
•Familiarity with 10 key typing for efficient data entry tasks.
•Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
•Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet deadlines.
