Job Summary
The company is looking for a safety-conscious candidate that is willing to learn and grow with the business. This is a role where you will work in a TEAM environment where safety always comes first. The Blaster’s primary responsibilities are to sand and/or shot blasting of the product per job card and/or instructions. This position reports to the Shop Foreman.
Responsibilities
•Comply with all Uni-Form Components Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
•Comply with Uni-Form Components policies and procedures.
•Operates sandblast, rotary and pass through shot blasts, for cleaning and preparing parts.
•Ability to read, interpret, and understand job cards.
•Ability to maintain and inspect equipment, specifically for hydraulic oil.
•Comply with company Housekeeping policies and standards to maintain a clean and orderly work station.
•Ability to meet all company quality standards.
•Ability to perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
•Ability to perform tasks in a competent manner.
•Sets controls and regulates the amount of abrasive material repairs to blast equipment.
•Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate a lift truck.
•Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate an Overhead Crane.
•The ability to know and understand surface designations for surface finishes.
•Ability to safely operate hand tools such as: grinder, hammer, wrench and pry bar.
•Ability to read prints and drawings.
•Ability to work well with others including all levels of management.
•Understands metric measurements and standard measurements.
•Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and written.
•Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
•High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Working Conditions
•Tolerate working outside in severe conditions as well as exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust.
•Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
•Frequent lifting and/ or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Lifting devices are available and recommended.
•Able to exceed a 40 hour week.
•Ability to wear proper PPE as required.
