at our Leamington, Ontario facility.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious
Bioenergy Plant Operator Maintainer
to support the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our renewable energy facility. This role is integral to the production of clean energy from biomass-based feedstock. The successful candidate will monitor and maintain plant systems to ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable power generation. A background in the skilled trades such as industrial electrician, controls and instrumentation, or millwright, and an interest in green energy are desirable assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Operate the bioenergy plant efficiently by monitoring system performance, maintaining logs, and conducting both corrective and preventative maintenance.
•Monitor and maintain bioenergy systems, including anaerobic digesters, gas handling equipment, combustion engines, and other critical infrastructure.
•Monitor feedstock quality and flow to ensure consistent, high-efficiency biogas production.
•Conduct routine inspections, respond to abnormal conditions, and document findings accurately.
•Perform first-line maintenance and coordinate with technical teams during plant shutdowns, repairs, or upgrades.
•Plan, schedule, and log all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and long-term plant performance.
•Ensure all plant areas are clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
•Act as a subject matter expert on power plant operations and collaborate closely with team members to maximize uptime and efficiency.
•Help resolve operational issues and support continuous improvement.
•Support the Bioenergy Production Manager in analyzing and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, monthly, and annual basis.
•Comply with Envest health and safety program standards, including workplace safety protocol and required reporting and documentation.
•Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to bioenergy and power plant operations.
•Meet required deadlines and contribute to a culture of accountability and performance.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
•High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in power engineering, environmental technology, industrial electrician, millwright, controls and instrumentation technology or a related field is an asset.
•Experience in a bioenergy, biogas, or industrial processing environment preferred.
•Experience in a skilled trade (e.g., millwright, mechanical, electrical) is an asset.
•Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with process control systems.
•Commitment to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
•Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment screening.
