A BIM Specialist is recognized as having a basic understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other design software used by PDI—including, but not limited to, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Bluebeam—with basic proficiency in BIM modeling and model management across PDI projects.
A BIM Specialist I will grow beyond the need to receive detailed “red-line drawings” and begin to integrate themselves into the workflow in such a way that little or no instruction will be required to produce Prefabricated Drawing Designs and Documentation packages under the guidance of the Prefab Design Manager. BIM Specialist I will produce industry leading prefabricated dwelling unit design drawing packages for the prefabrication shop in collaboration with the Prefab Project Management Team and the Prefab Design Manager. These rough packages will be used in the field for our installation teams to perform their work according with the design intent, owner wishes, constructability and PDI Best Practices. A successful candidate will be able to adapt to the uneven flow of information and construction schedule changes well working directly with the Prefab Design Manager to ensure quality installation drawings are being produced within a timely manner.
