Overview
Essential Functions:
•Oversee an administrative support unit involved in specialized clerical work.
•Schedule administrative assignments and review work of unit.
•Train and/or coach admin support employees in office requirements.
•May serve as lead worker or acknowledged expert who resolves most difficult problems.
•Perform complex clerical work.
•Compose and/or type correspondence.
•Perform difficult public contact work for the unit.
•Gather and organize information for preparation of technical reports.
•Update computer records by entering data.
•Operate/utilize, computer based, specialized, related departmental software applications and/or external resources that support the administrative support unit.
•Serve as a resource to contracted vendors that support the daily work of the unit.
•Could be responsible for conducting activities including batch processing.
•Cataloging and data retention maintenance.
•Produce and/or analyze complex reports from spreadsheets and special application software.
•May requisition office supplies.
•Perform cataloging and data retention maintenance by occasionally assembling commercial storage shelving components, storage containers, and accessories used in storage facilities and/or stock rooms.
•May preserve and restore fragile archival documents of significance.
•May ship records for storage and retrieve records from various remote locations.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform related work as required or as delegated by supervisor.

Qualifications
Training and Experience:
•Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Four ( 4) years of progressively responsible admin support/office experience in related area.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Thorough knowledge of appropriate admin support methods, office practices, modern office equipment and filing systems.
•Working knowledge of department function.
•Working knowledge of job related software applications.
•Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and specialized software.
•Working knowledge of microfilm and duplication systems.
•Considerable skill in performing office operations.
•Considerable ability to operate a variety of office equipment.
•Considerable ability to form effective working relationships with the public under difficult circumstances.
•Considerable ability to oversee the work of others.
•Ability to keep complex records and prepare detailed reports.
Special Requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides.
