The role emphasizes precision, documentation, and strict adherence to safety and cleanliness protocols. The technician will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to prepare prototype cells, execute experimental procedures, and contribute to process development activities.
- Prepare electrodes and separators for cell assembly, including cutting, weighing, drying, and electrolyte handling.
- Assemble coin cells (CR2032) and small pouch cells using gloveboxes, dry rooms, and specialized tools.
- Operate laboratory equipment such as electrode punches, crimpers, pouch sealers, vacuum ovens, and electrolyte filling stations.
- Conduct leak checks, dimensional measurements, and visual inspections of assembled cells.
- Record process parameters, material batch numbers, and experimental results with accuracy and completeness in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
- Assist with cycling tests by preparing cells for formation, charge/discharge, and safety evaluations.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization in compliance with dry-room or glovebox standards.
- Handle active materials, solvents, and electrolytes in accordance with chemical hygiene and safety guidelines.
- Support engineers and scientists in the development of new assembly techniques, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in the preparation of experimental summaries, reports, and presentations.
