Join Canada’s leading utility aviation team and experience the excitement of flying in a challenging and rewarding environment. TC Energy is currently hiring a permanent Pilot to support our operations across Canada and the USA, based in Bolton Ontario.
As a key member of our flight operations team, you will play a critical role in delivering essential services to support TC Energy’s infrastructure. This position offers unique flying opportunities, including aerial support for Pipeline patrols, personal transport.
- Act as Pilot in Command or delegate as directed by the base manager or Chief Pilot
- Be responsible for the operation and safety of the helicopter, and for the safety and security of all persons involved during flight operations
- Provide liaison with the company’s lines of business in determining the flight operation of the helicopter to deliver the necessary expertise for helicopter-related work
- Provide safety briefings including instruction on aircraft safety/survival equipment location and techniques of use in the event of emergency
- Thorough preflight planning for each day’s patrol schedule. Overseeing safe configuration of aircraft, i.e. adherence to all up-weight load – limit specifications and proper loading and securement of cargo
- Conduct administrative tasks at obligatory intervals such as recording flight duty times, aircraft document revision control, and expense and time sheet management. Help with hangar related tasks when needed
- Participate in the Company’s Safety Management system by regularly reporting hazards and incidents when encountered and aiding in the corrective action follow up process
- Support TC Energy’s mission to provide reliable pipeline transmission by:
- Accepting work away from base for up to 3-week periods
- Adjusting regular work schedule upon short notice for emergency circumstances
- Following TC Energy’s code of conduct, embracing inclusiveness and refraining from workplace harassment
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate.
- Valid Commercial (or higher) Canadian pilot license with minimum of 4,000 flight hours on Turbine powered helicopters. Ability to work in a two crew operation
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator License.
- Experience on AS350B3, H125 aircraft, BH206 L4, BH206 Jetranger is an asset
- Recent Flying in the Wires Training is an asset.
- Be comfortable to patrol at low level operations.
- Must be able to work independently without constant supervision
- Thorough knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations with significant experience flying in Canadian remote as well as high density airspace.
- Experience conducting Pipeline line patrols an asset.
- Solid aviation knowledge base including weather reporting, GPS and electronic mapping navigational techniques, weather minima, and aircraft radio communication.
- Comfortable working with modern electronic systems and document control.
- Must possess and demonstrate well developed communication, public relations, and documentation writing skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and decisiveness in stressful and emergency situations.

- Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
- Successfully a complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
- Travel to other company locations
- Overnight stays away from home base will be required (estimated up 50% of work schedule)
- Possess, or be eligible to receive, a valid passport and maintain travel eligibility for Domestic, Cross Border, and International Travel (including the USA and Mexico)
- Criminal background checks will be required.
- Positions requires variable works days including weekends.
