The Recycle and Assembly (RA) Operations Technician is an entry level position in the Recycle and Assembly organization. This position provides work experience for individuals(s) who do not meet the minimum education and experience level required to qualify as an RA Operations Technician. The Associate position provides an opportunity for applicants to gain the necessary training and experience required to advance to the RA Operations Technician position. This position will be an understudy to qualified RA Operations Technicians participating primarily as a team member performing routine tasks under the direct oversight of a qualified technician or supervisor. The Associate Technician must successfully complete the RA Operations Technician Qualification Standards and training program for advancement to the RA Operations Technician position.
The Associate RA Operations Technicians report to the Recycle and Assembly Operations Shift Supervisor. The incumbent adheres to plant policies, rules, and regulations to ensure a safe workplace and to remain compliant with procedures from operations, environmental, safety, quality assurance, security and other groups.

- All responsibilities are performed under the oversight of supervision or a qualified technician.
- Control classified material per approved Operations and Security procedures.
- Work with cross functional teams to plan equipment testing requirements, develop operating procedures, training modules and routine operation inspections
- Assist with equipment turnover from construction and perform installation and functional acceptance testing
- Monitor, adjust, and control equipment, mobile equipment, systems, structures and components ensuring proper operation and record data on approved round sheets and forms in accordance with approved operating procedures
- Adjust equipment settings manually and through computer control, start-up, shut down and validate performance in accordance with approved procedures or test plans
- Respond to equipment status alarms with approved procedures under normal, off-normal and emergency response conditions
- Maintain narrative log of shift activities and operational evolutions
- Perform and/or assist with a variety of maintenance activities to support system and facility start up, performance testing, select repair, and operation
- Perform walk-through inspections of assigned areas; document and provide recommendations for identified deficiencies
- Maintain documentation of traceability of centrifuge build components and tools
- Assist with receipt of centrifuge build components
- Assemble, Transfer, Install, Repair, and Test Centrifuges
- High School diploma or satisfactory completion of the General Educational Development test (G.E.D.)
- Associate of Science Degree in Engineering/Physical Sciences or successful completion of the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program or equivalent technical experience.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance
- Must be able to travel for training and development as requested by management
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule and meet physical demands of the position
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- Must be able to complete Centrus Qualification Standards and Job Specific Training Program
- Must be able to work in Personal Protective Equipment as required by Health Physics/Safety requirements, i.e., respirator, anti-Cs, or electrical safety gear

This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
